Interested in becoming part of Friendship Force Sunshine Coast?

Our club is a welcoming community of people who enjoy connecting with others through travel, hosting, and shared experiences, both locally and around the world.

How it Works

Have you ever travelled but never really met the local people, stayed in their homes, or experienced everyday life in a different place? Friendship Force offers a different way to travel, built on connection, not just sightseeing. Getting started is simple:
1.

Come along to a meeting or get in touch

Meet members, learn more about the club, and see if it feels like the right fit.

2.

Join the club

Complete a simple application process and become part of the Sunshine Coast community.

3.

Get involved in your own way

Take part in hosting, travel, and local activities at a level that suits you.

Ways to get involved

Friendship Force is built on connection, but how you take part is flexible. Some members host visitors in their homes, while others prefer to be involved in different ways. Members can choose what suits their lifestyle, and many start small and become more involved over time.  Every level of participation is valued.

Home Hosting

Welcome visiting ambassadors into your home, sharing meals and building genuine, lasting friendships.

Co-hosting

Support a home host by helping with meals, outings, and spending time with guests, a great option if you’re not able to accommodate visitors overnight.

Dinner hosting

Invite visitors into your home for a meal and relaxed conversation, without the need for overnight stays.

Day hosting and activity support

Join in during visits by helping with outings, transport, or simply spending time with guests.

The social side of the club

We have a welcoming and active social calendar, with plenty of opportunities to connect, have fun, and build friendships throughout the year.

Whether you attend occasionally or join in regularly, there’s always something happening and you’ll be warmly welcomed.

Monthly dine-outs

Relaxed lunches at local cafés, a great way to catch up regularly.

Bi-monthly picnics

Casual park gatherings every second month.

Day trips and outings

Occasional trips to Brisbane for shows, exhibitions, and events.

Getting involved behind the scenes

Opportunities to help plan journeys and contribute to club activities.

Get involved on your own terms! Attend as many club activities as you enjoy, or dive into a practical leadership role—such as President or Social Activities Coordinator—to help keep our community thriving.

Meetings

We meet on the Sunshine Coast on the fourth Sunday morning of every second month (January, March, May, July, September, and November).

Meetings are a relaxed way to meet members, learn more about the club, and see if it’s right for you. Get in touch for upcoming meeting details.
